Toon Van Overbeke

Toon Van Overbeke is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the European Institute of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and an Assistant Professor in Europe, Climate and Digital Society at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Maastricht University. His research explores how societies navigate structural developments like automation and climate change that yield long-term benefits but face short-term contestation.

Research Expertise: Comparative Political Economy, Comparative Politics, Industrial Sociology, Future of Work, Labour Markets, Climate Change, and impacts of Automation. His work also intersects with policy responses to global crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
