Tony Weingrill

Tony Weingrill is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Zurich's Department of Evolutionary Anthropology. He serves as Coordinator of the PhD Program in Evolutionary Biology and Study Advisor for MSc students. His research focuses on primate endocrinology, particularly steroid hormone metabolites in wild and captive primates, with an emphasis on orangutans and chacma baboons. Key projects include investigating reproductive strategies, sexual conflict, and conservation implications of hormonal responses to environmental changes. His work on chacma baboons examines infanticide as a sexual conflict driver and the evolutionary adaptations of female counterstrategies.
