Professor Tony Prescott is a prominent academic in cognitive robotics at the University of Sheffield, leading the School of Computer Science. He is co-founder and former director of Sheffield Robotics and an active member of the Sheffield Neuroscience Institute. His research integrates robotics, AI, psychology, and neuroscience to explore human-technology relationships, societal impacts of emerging technologies, and bioinspired systems like Scratchbot and MiRo-e. He has authored over 240 publications and secured £10M in grants, co-founding companies such as Consequential Robotics and BOW. His work frequently features in media including BBC, Discovery Channel, and CNN.
