Tony Lahoutte

Prof Dr Tony Lahoutte is a leading academic in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, serving as head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at UZ Brussel and head of the Molecular Imaging Research Unit at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He co-founded Camel-IDS NV in 2014 as Chief Scientific Officer, focusing on radio-immuno therapeutic development. His work spans clinical translation of molecular imaging probes and targeted radionuclide therapies for cancer. He holds an MD from 1998 and has authored over 378 research outputs since 1999.

Research interests include single-domain antibodies, PET imaging techniques, and theranostic strategies for cancer. Notable contributions include the development of [68Ga]Ga-NOTA-anti-HER2-VHH1 for brain metastasis imaging and radioligand therapies targeting folate receptors and fibroblast activation proteins. His work integrates immunology, oncology, and radiochemistry, with a focus on preclinical and clinical applications.
