Toni Kazic is an Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at the University of Missouri. Her research focuses on developing computational methods to analyze complex biological systems, with particular emphasis on inferring network structures from biological data. She utilizes disease lesion mimic mutants of maize as model systems to understand biochemical reaction networks.
Her primary research interests include bioinformatics, computational biology, plant genomics, and network inference. Kazic's work bridges computational methods with experimental biology to understand complex biological processes at systemic levels.
Dr. Kazic has been recognized for her contributions through several honors, including being named Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics and receiving an invitation as Researcher to the Institute for New Generation Computer Technology. She has served as a program director for computational biology at the National Science Foundation and currently consults for both NIH and NSF while participating in scientific advisory bodies.
