Tong Wang is an Associate Professor and Advanced Production Specialist in the Department of Economics at South Dakota State University (SDSU), affiliated with the Ness School of Management and Economics. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Iowa State University (2012). Her work focuses on sustainable agriculture production, natural resource economics, and policy analysis at the human-agriculture-environment nexus.
Dr. Wang's research explores soil conservation practices, land use decisions, and sustainable grazing strategies. She has led 13 multi-disciplinary projects across institutions and published nearly 40 peer-reviewed articles in agricultural economics journals. Her extension work includes publishing practical guides on agricultural production economics through SDSU Extension, which have garnered significant media attention.
Her recent publications emphasize precision agriculture technologies, no-till adoption dynamics, and carbon farming economics. Key themes include policy impacts on conservation practices, farmer decision-making processes, and the economic viability of sustainable systems.
