معرفی
Tomotaro Mae is an Assistant Professor at Waseda University's Faculty of Science and Engineering and a visiting researcher at King's College London's Department of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Waseda University (2024) and focuses on sustainable battery technologies using carbon nanotubes and silicon-based materials.
- Education: Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry (Waseda, 2024), M.S. (2021), B.S. (2019)
His research integrates chemical reaction engineering with functional materials development for lithium-ion and lithium-sulfur batteries, emphasizing environmental impact assessment and life cycle analysis (LCA). Recent work explores three-dimensional current collectors, partial prelithiation methods, and graphite regeneration from spent batteries.
His articles (2021–2025) demonstrate advancements in high-energy-density batteries using carbon nanotube matrices for reversible electrode expansion, dendrite suppression, and sustainable manufacturing. Collaborations include Suguru Noda and international teams across Japan, UK, and Singapore.
Scientific Recognition:
- Satomi Research Proposal Award (2024)
- Mizuno Prize (2024)
He teaches Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering courses at Waseda's undergraduate and graduate levels, while contributing to joint seminars on nanoscale science and materials design.
