Tomona Iso

Tomona Iso is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Loma Linda University's School of Pharmacy. She specializes in clinical pharmacy, drug therapy optimization, and critical care. Her research focuses on topics such as hyperkalemia management, antibiotic dosing strategies, and rabies prophylaxis protocols. She holds a PharmD from Nova Southeastern University (2018) and completed additional training at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston (2020).

Her research interests span clinical pharmacy, emergency medicine, and pharmacotherapy. Recent work includes studies on sodium zirconium cyclosilicate for hyperkalemia and vancomycin dosing strategies. She has also contributed to guidelines for osteoarthritis pain management and opioid prescription optimization.

In service, she chairs the Assessment Committee at Loma Linda University and volunteers with the American Red Cross. She is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), and American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP).

Her grants include studies on intravenous iron treatment for heart failure patients, hypertension management in hemodialysis patients, and sodium zirconium cyclosilicate efficacy in hyperkalemia. She actively collaborates with LLU’s Pharmacy Practice Department on clinical research projects.
