Dr. Zoppi earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Florence in October 2012, followed by his Master's degree in July 2014. He completed his PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics (Computer Science curriculum) from November 2014 to November 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Andrea Bondavalli.

His research interests span across multiple critical domains including safety in railway systems, anomaly detection in dynamic and complex cyber-physical systems, intrusion detection based on machine learning approaches, and crisis management support systems. His work bridges theoretical machine learning concepts with practical applications in safety-critical environments where system failures could have severe consequences.
