معرفی
Tomasz Uchacz is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry of Jagiellonian University (JU), part of the Nanoengineering of Functional Polymeric Materials research group. He joined the group in 2015 as a young doctor of chemistry and has since specialized in photophysical phenomena, optoelectronics, and polymer-based materials. His career includes a postdoctoral degree (2019), a fellowship at Lund University (2020), and leadership in multiple research grants.
Education & Work:
- PhD in Chemistry (2008), Jagiellonian University, thesis: “Monomolecular heterocyclic systems with electron transfer and their possible applications as fluorescent cation indicators”
- Postdoctoral fellowship at Lund University (2020)
- Associate Professor (since 2020) and prior roles as Assistant Professor (2011–2019) and Assistant (2009–2011) at JU
Research Interests: Focuses on photochromic polymers, optoelectronic materials, fluorescent sensors, and thermosensitive polydiacetylenes. Utilizes techniques like single-molecule fluorescence microscopy and electrochemistry.
Grants & Projects:
- NCN Miniatura grant (2020) for pyrazoline-based compounds for nonlinear optics
- NCN Sheng-2 grant (2022–present) on polydiacetylenes and energy transfer in nanocapsules
- European FNP-TEAM grant for polymer brush engineering
Awards:
- Recipient of the “Florentyna Kogutowska” Award (2006)
Teaching: Teaches physical chemistry and photoinduced electron/proton transfer processes.
