Dr. Tomasz Ridan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Kinesitherapy, Department of Applied Sciences, Academy of Physical Education in Kraków, where he has been employed since 1993. He also serves as managing editor of the Atlas Rehabilitacji Ruchowej (Atlas of Motor Rehabilitation) since 2011 and runs his own physiotherapy and education business. His extensive academic career includes lecturing positions at multiple institutions including the Krakow University of Health Promotion and the Higher School of Administration in Bielsko-Biała.

Dr. Ridan's research focuses on physiotherapy for spine and joint disorders, headache therapy, urogynecological physiotherapy, and mastectomy rehabilitation. His work integrates manual therapy techniques, particularly the MDT McKenzie approach, with evidence-based rehabilitation protocols. He has developed comprehensive rehabilitation programs for various conditions including sports injuries, post-mastectomy recovery, and pediatric orthopedic conditions.
His publication record demonstrates a strong focus on practical rehabilitation approaches across multiple specialties. The research trends show consistent investigation into biomechanics, injury prevention, and specialized rehabilitation protocols for specific patient populations including dancers, athletes, and post-surgical patients. His work bridges clinical practice with academic research, often translating complex medical concepts into practical rehabilitation protocols.

Dr. Ridan has supervised 102 master's theses and 27 diploma theses throughout his career. He has been involved in multiple research projects including a current NCBR grant project on a multifunctional rehabilitation table. His leadership roles in scientific committees and editorial boards demonstrate his significant contribution to the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation science.
He has been actively involved with the Polish Society of Manual Medicine, serving as President from 2018-2022 and currently as Vice-President. He co-founded the MDT Poland Association and has led the Swelling Therapy and Spinal Pain Syndromes Laboratory at Ars-Medica Kraków. His international collaborations include Erasmus+ mobility programs with Charles University in Prague and Universidade do Minho in Portugal.
