Professor Tomasz Liskiewicz is Head of the Department of Engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University. He holds a PhD in Tribology from École Centrale de Lyon, France, and an MSc in Materials Science from Lodz University of Technology, Poland, with prior industry experience as a Senior Scientist at Charter Coating in Canada.
His research emphasizes engineering coatings, wear resistance, and materials for biomedical and industrial applications. Key contributions include advancements in DLC coatings, fretting wear analysis, and nanoscale tribological testing. He serves as a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Institute of Physics, leading the Tribology Group Committee.
