Tomasz Kandulski

Tomasz Kandulski serves as an Assistant Professor at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, Poland, within the Faculty of Instrumental Studies, Historical Performance Practice, Jazz and Popular Music. His academic appointment resides specifically in the Lute Instruments Institute where he teaches main subject guitar, chamber music, guitar literature, and methodology of guitar instruction.

His work challenges traditional instrumentation norms by exploring the expressive potential of guitar-violin and guitar-viola combinations, documented through international performances and recordings. He develops pedagogical frameworks for guitar instruction while advancing guitar literature studies.

His artistic output demonstrates a clear trajectory toward expanding chamber music repertoire through unconventional instrument pairings. The 2021 album DUOCHROME with violist Ewa Guzowska exemplifies this focus, creating new sonic possibilities for underappreciated instrument combinations within contemporary classical contexts.

His competitive achievements include 14 awards from 18 international competitions:
