Dr. Tomasz John is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Education at the University of Strathclyde. He holds a PhD from the University of Reading and an MA in TESOL from Leeds University. His research focuses on reimagining internationalisation strategies in higher education, challenging assumptions about international students, and fostering inclusive academic environments. He currently serves as Communications Officer for BALEAP EAP and BAAL Social Justice Special Interest Groups.
Teaching responsibilities include contributing to MSc TESOLIC, BA Education & TESOL, iPGCE, and MSc Education Studies programs. His research interests span TESOL, globalisation of education, and social justice in ELT. Recent work explores ICT integration in language teaching, multilingualism in higher education, and the transition experiences of international PhD students.
John leads projects like 'Multilingualism and International Student Capabilities for Belonging' and collaborates on partnership teaching models. He actively presents at conferences, discussing topics such as culturally responsive teaching and trauma-informed pedagogy for displaced populations.
