Tomasz Bradecki

Tomasz Bradecki is a Professor in the Department of Urban and Spatial Planning at the Faculty of Architecture, Silesian University of Technology. He has served as assistant professor since 2009 and achieved habilitation (Dr. hab.) in 2022, progressing to full professor status. His academic work is deeply integrated with professional architectural practice, and he maintains active membership in the Silesian Chamber of Architects and the Silesian Branch of the Commission on Architecture and Urban Planning of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2019.

Bradecki's research spans architecture, urban planning, and digital modeling applications. His primary interests include residential architecture, public building design, urban revitalization, and the application of 3D, BIM, and augmented reality models in urban planning education and practice. He has developed innovative teaching approaches through project-based learning and created the URBANMODEL research group in 2016, which focuses on residential models and organizes academic events for students.

His scholarly output demonstrates a consistent focus on practical applications of urban modeling, with recent work examining digital twin technologies, augmented reality in public space design, and comparative studies of medium-sized European cities. The research shows strong emphasis on bridging theoretical urban planning concepts with practical implementation, particularly in post-industrial contexts like Gliwice.

Bradecki has managed significant projects including ARCHEA – Architectural European Medium-sized City Arrangement (2018-2021) and created the 'Let's Build a Neighborhood Together' workshop series for youth. He has also authored numerous exhibitions on urban models, including 'Models of the Structure of the Municipal Municipality of GZM' and 'Models of the Structure of the City of Bologna.'

With over 122 publications, 11 patents, and a substantial ministerial score of 2,394, his work has achieved notable recognition in Polish academic circles. His bibliometric indicators include an h-index of 4 in Web of Science and 2 in Scopus, with a Cumulative CiteScore of 26.7.
