Tom Vos is an Assistant Professor at Maastricht University's Faculty of Law, affiliated with the Institute for Corporate Law, Governance and Innovation Policies (ICGI) and the Maastricht Law and Tech Lab. He also serves as a visiting lecturer (10%) at the University of Antwerp's Jean-Pierre Blumberg Chair, teaching international corporate governance and supervising FWO-funded research on short-termism in European governance. Additionally, he works part-time as an associate at Linklaters' Brussels office advising on corporate and securities laws.
Education: Obtained bachelor/master/PhD in Law at KU Leuven (doctoral thesis on shareholder protection in share issuances) and an LLM from Harvard Law School. Research focuses on corporate law, governance, law-economics intersections, and empirical studies.
Key projects include co-supervising a University of Antwerp research project on short-termism in corporate governance (FWO-funded) and participating in a Dutch government evaluation of the Reflection Period Law. His recent publications address judicial policy in corporate matters, shareholder activism dynamics, cross-border share issuance regulations, and sustainable governance models.
Teaching responsibilities include Comparative Company Law, European Company Law, and Company in Society courses. Grants include Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) support for corporate governance research.
