Tom Gijsberts is a Researcher at Wageningen University & Research, affiliated with the Graduate School for Production Ecology & Resource Conservation and the Horticulture & Product Physiology department. His work focuses on plant responses to environmental stress.

Research Interests
Tom's research explores how plants adapt to salinity stress. His work centers on root development mechanisms in Arabidopsis thaliana, particularly auxin-independent pathways affecting lateral root formation. Collaborative studies investigate transcription factors, cell wall dynamics, and plant growth regulation under adverse conditions.

Recent Publication
2024: Co-authored a high-impact study in The Plant Cell analyzing salinity tolerance in Arabidopsis through LATERAL ORGAN BOUNDARY DOMAIN 16 modulation.
