Prof. Tom Buchanan is Professor of Psychology at the University of Westminster's Centre for Psychological Sciences. His research examines online behavior, technology interaction, and psychological aspects of social media, including disinformation sharing motivations and social identity effects.
He currently supervises doctoral researchers investigating online misinformation, social identity in disinformation engagement, and technology's impact on well-being. Funded projects include research on motivations for sharing political disinformation (Leverhulme Trust) and health information disclosure to chatbots (NIHR).
