Tom Bennett is a Doctoral Researcher at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Loughborough University. His research interrogates the historical legacies of colonialism, industrialisation, and class structure on England's National Trails network. He explores socio-spatial inclusion/exclusion dynamics along these trails and examines how whiteness and white nationalism manifest in trail communities.
Education: BA Fine Art (Goldsmiths, University of London) | MA Culture, Diaspora and Ethnicity (Birkbeck, University of London).
Research Focus: Bennett’s work critically analyzes the intersection of colonial history and contemporary spatial practices, with a focus on marginalized communities’ interactions with natural and recreational spaces. He employs interdisciplinary methods to unpack how power structures shape public landscapes.
