Todd Zenger serves as the N. Eldon Tanner Chair in Strategy and Strategic Leadership and holds the University of Utah designation of Presidential Professor at the David Eccles School of Business, where he is faculty in the Department of Entrepreneurship & Strategy. He concurrently serves as Editor in Chief of Strategy Science and Academic Director of the Goff Strategic Leadership Center, having previously held leadership roles including senior associate dean and department chair for over sixteen years.
Professor Zenger earned his undergraduate degree in economics from Stanford University and his PhD in strategy and organization from UCLA. His scholarly foundation supports extensive contributions to strategic management literature.
His research centers on corporate strategy, organization design, and strategic leadership, where he ranks among the world's most cited scholars. His work bridges academic rigor and practical application through publications in top journals and practitioner outlets, generating significant media coverage and influencing executive education globally.

Professor Zenger has received numerous teaching awards for executive and professional MBA programs, authored the best-selling Harvard Business Review article "What is the Theory of Your Firm?", and published the widely adopted book "Beyond Competitive Advantage: How to Solve the Puzzle of Sustaining Growth while Creating Value". He actively consults and teaches executives worldwide on strategy implementation.
