Todd R. Jones

Todd R. Jones is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Mississippi State University's College of Business, Department of Finance and Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from Cornell University (2018), along with degrees from Utah State University. His research focuses on the economics of education, applied microeconomics, and labor economics, with publications in top journals like the Journal of Human Resources and Journal of Public Economics. He is affiliated with the CESifo Research Network, IZA, and Annenberg EdWorkingPapers.

Education: Ph.D., Economics (Cornell, 2018); M.A., Economics (Cornell, 2016); M.S., Statistics (Utah State, 2012); B.A., Economics (Utah State, 2011). Additional studies in Chinese at Shanghai JiaoTong University.

His research explores parental and student time use, academic origins of faculty, and financial aid impacts. Notable awards include the Ernest Liu Teaching Award (2014). He also develops data visualization tools and contributes to Stata/R resources.
