Toby Kiers is a Full Professor in Ecology & Evolution at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, renowned for her groundbreaking research on plant-fungal symbiosis and underground ecosystems. She was awarded the NWO Spinoza Prize (2023) as the youngest recipient ever, alongside the Ammodo KNAW Award, NWO VICI Grant, and recognition as one of TIME's 100 Emerging Leaders (2022).
