Prof. Tobias Schmidt is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Bergische Universität Wuppertal, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. His research focuses on Algebra, Number Theory, and Representation Theory, with a particular emphasis on D-modules, p-adic analysis, and algebraic geometry. He has supervised multiple doctoral students, including Ziqian Yin and Julian Reichardt. Recent research includes studies on equivariant D-modules, Lubin-Tate moduli spaces, and Hecke modules, with publications in journals like Mathematische Zeitschrift and Representation Theory. He actively participates in academic conferences and collaborates with institutions in Rennes, Strasbourg, and beyond. His work bridges geometric and arithmetic aspects of representation theory, contributing to the p-adic Langlands program and related fields.
Teaching includes courses on linear algebra and seminars on algebraic topology and representation theory. His research spans over two decades, with key contributions to D-module theory, distribution algebras, and modular representation theory. Professional service includes organizing conferences like the 2021 GDR TLAG colloquium and participation in workshops across Europe.
