Privatdozent Dr. med. Tobias Reiner is an Associate Professor and Senior Physician at Heidelberg University's Medical Faculty, affiliated with the Department of Orthopaedics and the Endoprosthetics Center of Maximum Care (EPZmax). He specializes in orthopedic surgery and trauma care, with a focus on joint replacement technologies and implant research. His roles include clinical leadership as Acting Senior Physician and Investigator in clinical trials.
Dr. Reiner's research emphasizes biomechanics, implant stability, and long-term outcomes in hip and knee arthroplasty. His work explores minimally invasive techniques, cementless fixation methods, and the impact of metal ion release on patients. He leads studies on radiostereometric analysis (RSA) and synovial cytokine profiling in osteoarthritis.
