Tobias Falke

Tobias Falke serves as Professor of Social Sciences and Head of Dual Study Programs in Social Work at SRH University Heidelberg, based in Hamm and Cologne since October 2023 (formally appointed June 2024). His academic foundation combines medical training at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (2002-2006, incomplete) with professional social work qualifications from Katholische Hochschule NRW, including a Bachelor's (2006-2009) and Master's in Health-Promoting Social Work (2009-2011), culminating in a magna cum laude doctorate from Universität Witten/Herdecke (2023).

His research centers on medical child protection systems, examining structural and procedural barriers in youth welfare-medical service collaboration. Key projects include the MeKidS.best initiative developing regional child protection frameworks in the Ruhr area. His scholarship extends to gender-specific social work with boys in psychiatric settings and quality management in health-social service interfaces, reflecting his 20+ years of clinical experience in child psychiatry.

Recent publications demonstrate evolving focus from gender-specific youth work (2010-2014) toward systemic child protection analysis (2021-2024), with increasing emphasis on inter-institutional protocols and evidence-based implementation. His 12 major works since 2010 span empirical research, policy handbooks, critical reviews, and clinical practice frameworks across child protection, social psychiatry, and sports social work domains.

Professor Falke maintains active project consulting through MedEcon Ruhr GmbH and holds multiple honorary roles including social-pedagogical director at TV Brechten 1913 e.V., training consultant for the Archdiocese of Paderborn, and youth violence prevention committee member in Dortmund's football association. His professional development includes TÜV-certified quality management expertise and specialized training as a child protection specialist and systemic coach.
