Tjitske Starkenburg is a Research Professor at Northwestern University's Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) and Department of Physics and Astronomy. Her research combines galactic dynamics with extragalactic astronomy to study galaxy evolution through cosmological simulations and observational data analysis.
Current projects focus on stellar stream formation during galaxy mergers, synthetic observation techniques, and machine learning applications for connecting theoretical models with astronomical surveys. She develops statistical methods to analyze galaxy populations in large-scale simulations like FIRE-2.
