Tjark Vredeveld

Prof Tjark Vredeveld is a Professor of Planning and Scheduling at Maastricht University's School of Business and Economics (SBE), within the Quantitative Economics department. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from Eindhoven University of Technology (2002), followed by postdoctoral roles at the University of Rome La Sapienza and Zuse Institute Berlin. His academic career at Maastricht University includes roles as Assistant Professor (2005-2009), Associate Professor (2010-2020), and current Professor since 2020. He has also served as a guest professor at Escuela Politécnica Nacional (Quito) and visiting researcher at TU Berlin and Universidad de Chile.

Research focuses on discrete optimization, particularly scheduling and resource allocation, emphasizing algorithm design, complexity analysis, and handling uncertainty in algorithms.
