Tirza Routtenberg is an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, with a visiting position at Princeton University. She earned her B.Sc. (2005) in Biomedical Engineering from Technion, M.Sc. (2007) and Ph.D. (2012) in Electrical Engineering from Ben-Gurion University, followed by a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Cornell University (2012-2014).
Her research focuses on signal processing in smart grids, statistical signal processing, estimation and detection theory, and signal processing on graphs. These areas address theoretical and applied challenges in networked systems and data analysis.
Recent publications highlight her expertise in
- Bayesian and non-Bayesian estimation frameworks
- Graph signal processing applications
- Cramér-Rao bounds for constrained and post-model selection estimation
- Smart grid cybersecurity, including detection of false data injection attacks
Her accolades include Best Student Paper Awards at ICASSP 2011, CAMSAP 2013, ICASSP 2017, and SSP 2018 (as coauthor), along with prestigious scholarships and the Toronto Prize for Excellence in Research (2021).
She serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Signal and Information Processing Over Networks and IEEE Signal Processing Letters, and contributes to the IEEE Signal Processing Theory and Methods Technical Committee.
