Ting Ge

Ting Ge is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of South Carolina, affiliated with the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences. Their research focuses on computational and theoretical studies of polymer and soft matter systems, including polymer nanocomposites, mechanics, rheology, and molecular simulations. Dr. Ge holds a B.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China (2007) and a Ph.D. in Physics from Johns Hopkins University (2013).

Research Interests: Ge's group investigates polymer conformation, dynamics, rheology, and mechanics using molecular simulations and multi-scale modeling. Key areas include polymer nanocomposites (effects of nanoparticle-polymer interactions), polymer mechanics (large deformation and fracture), and polymer rheology (architecture-dependent flow behavior). Their work bridges microscopic simulations with macroscopic material properties, collaborating with experimentalists.

Awards: Notable honors include the 2023 NSF CAREER Award, ACS Petroleum Research Fund grant, and recognition as a Soft Matter Emerging Investigator (2022). Dr. Ge also contributes to academic service, organizing conferences like SETCA and sessions at APS March Meetings.
