Tina Hanlon is a Professor of English at Ferrum College, specializing in children's literature and Appalachian studies. Her work bridges literary analysis, folkloric traditions, and environmental/holocaust themes.

She has contributed to pedagogical approaches through essays in Appalachia in the Classroom and Virginia Libraries, emphasizing community theater and folkloric education.
