Dr. Tina Bott is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Sciences at MacEwan University's Faculty of Arts and Science. She earned her PhD in synthetic organic chemistry from the University of Alberta and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in medicinal and natural products chemistry at the University of British Columbia.

Her research focuses on two main areas: (1) extracting bioactive natural products from invasive Alberta plants, particularly pyrrolizidine alkaloids with potential agricultural and medicinal applications, and (2) developing new chemical transformations for carbon-carbon and carbon-nitrogen bond formation using carbenes. She supervises senior students in independent study projects.
