Dr. Tina Benevides is a full-time Assistant Professor at the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing University, recognized as an Apple Distinguished Educator (2013) for her innovative use of technology in literacy education.
- Education: BA(Hons), BEd, MEd from Nipissing University; PhD from OISE/University of Toronto.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on early literacy, new literacies, children’s literature, children’s mental health, and elementary science education. She also explores technology integration in inclusive classrooms.
Publication Trends: Her scholarship spans special education, educational technology, teacher training, and literacy interventions, with recent emphasis on trauma-informed mental health approaches and community capacity-building in Northern Ontario.
