Dr. Timothy Price is an Assistant Professor in Physical Geography at Utrecht University, part of the Faculty of Geosciences. His research focuses on coastal dynamics, morphodynamics, sediment transport, and citizen science. He leads projects such as EURECCA and CoastSnap NL, addressing coastal climate adaptation and crowd-sourced monitoring. Price holds a PhD from Utrecht University (2013) and has supervised numerous students in BSc and MSc theses. His work integrates field observations, numerical modeling, and remote sensing to understand coastal processes and inform sustainable management strategies.
- Key roles: Research leader of EURECCA, Project coordinator for CoastSnap NL.
- Education: PhD 2013, Utrecht University.
- Research Themes: Pathways to Sustainability, Water, Climate and Future Deltas.
Research interests include coastal morphodynamics, sediment transport mechanisms, and the impact of climate change on coastal systems. Recent work explores shoreface nourishments, citizen science applications, and mixed-energy coastal systems. His team collaborates with institutions like Deltares and Rijkswaterstaat to bridge research and practical coastal management.
Publications span over 550 citations (Google Scholar, 2022), including studies on SPAWs, numerical modeling of dune erosion, and satellite-based coastal monitoring. Awards include a NWO Veni Grant (2017).
