Timothy Johnson is an Associate Professor at Heriot-Watt University's School of Mathematical & Computer Sciences, specifically in the Actuarial Mathematics & Statistics department. He holds a PhD in Financial Mathematics from King's College London (2006), an MSc from King's (2002), and a BSc in Physics from Imperial College. His research focuses on optimal stochastic control with applications to financial derivatives pricing and energy systems. He has organized major academic events including the Edinburgh Science Festival panel (2009) and co-chaired the Mathematics in the Management of Energy Systems workshop (2008).
