Timothy J. Ruback

Timothy J. Ruback serves as Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Southern Maine (USM) in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. He joined the university in 2015 and directs the Maine Model United Nations Program (MeMUNC).

His educational background includes:

Professor Ruback has prior teaching experience at Dartmouth College and Smith College.

His research and teaching interests span International Relations, with emphasis on United Nations operations, geopolitical border dynamics, U.S. strategic foreign policy, transnational terrorism frameworks, theoretical international systems, and the intersection of global sports with political diplomacy. He integrates these domains through experiential learning initiatives like MeMUNC.

As director of MeMUNC, Professor Ruback oversees student participation in United Nations simulation conferences, developing practical diplomatic skills and global policy analysis capabilities.
