Timo Meier is a Lecturer in the Department of Theoretical Philosophy at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He holds a Master of Arts (MA) and is affiliated with the Philosophy of Science focus area. His research focuses on philosophy of logic, particularly logical pluralism, non-classical logics, and metaphysical inquiries into non-existent and fictional entities. He currently teaches the course "Introduction to Modern Logic" alongside Dr. Nick Haverkamp and others. Meier is based in the Philosophicum building (room 00-514) and is involved in the MPE project within the Theoretical Philosophy department. His ongoing dissertation project explores "The Consequences of Logical Pluralism".
Outside of teaching, Meier contributes to institutional activities such as academic advising and course coordination. His work is situated within interdisciplinary research initiatives like the Kant-Forschungsstelle and collaborates with peers in theoretical philosophy and science studies. Office hours are held on Tuesdays 11-12 during lecture periods, with availability by email during breaks.
