Tim Weiss is an Assistant Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Imperial College London's Department of Management and Entrepreneurship within the Business School. His research applies organizational theory to study entrepreneurship's evolving nature and societal impacts, focusing on Africa's economic contexts, climate adaptation, and digital transformations. He holds degrees from Zeppelin University (PhD, MSc) and the University of Vienna (BSc).
Research interests span entrepreneurship in informal economies, Silicon Valley misconduct, climate mitigation in African rural communities, and vaccine production in Kenya. He co-founded the Interdisciplinary Network for Technology and Entrepreneurship Research in Africa and the Entrepreneurship & Society conference. Awards include the Aboyeji Medal for Servant Leadership (2023).
