Tim Sercombe

Tim Sercombe is a Professor and Dean/Head of School in the School of Engineering at the University of Western Australia. He specializes in additive manufacturing, with 28 years of industry experience since 1996. His research focuses on advanced materials processing for selective laser melting, titanium/aluminum composites, and biomedical applications like customized implants. He has held roles at the University of Queensland (PhD 1998, postdoc at Birmingham UK) before joining UWA in 2006.

Funding & Grants: Secured 39 grants including $1M+ from ARC, Woodside Energy, and CRC programs. Recent projects involve composite repairs for steel structures and melt-pool monitoring in laser manufacturing.
