معرفی
Tim S. Meese is a Professor of Vision Science at Aston University, affiliated with the Optometry & Vision Science Research Group within the College of Health and Life Sciences. He is also director of the Centre for Vision and Hearing Research and the Aston Laboratory for Immersive Virtual Environments (ALIVE).
Education:
- PhD in Pattern Vision (University of Bristol, 1993)
- BSc in Computer Science & Psychology (Newcastle University, 1989)
- HNC in Electronics Engineering (Nottingham Trent University, 1986)
Research interests include spatial vision, contrast gain control, binocular vision, depth perception, psychophysical methods, complex motion and optic flow, virtual reality, and computational modeling. His work explores how humans process visual information, with applications in virtual environments and military camouflage.
Article trends focus on visual perception anomalies, computational modeling of vision systems, and practical applications in aerospace and military contexts. His recent publications examine aerial image classification, dazzle camouflage effectiveness, and binocular disparity mechanisms.
Grants & Funding include support from The Wellcome Trust, The Leverhulme Trust, BBSRC, EPSRC, HEFCE, The Wolfson Trust, The Eranda Foundation, The Cadbury Trust, and the Eveson Trust.
Laboratory: As director of ALIVE, he leads immersive virtual environment research funded by multiple trusts and organizations.
