Tim Reeskens is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology at Tilburg University, specializing in comparative analysis of social cohesion, welfare state attitudes, and political/social attitudes. He holds a PhD from KU Leuven and has held research positions at institutions including the University of Amsterdam, Harvard University, and American University.
Research Interests: His work focuses on social capital, generalized trust, national identity, and welfare state performance. Current projects include leading the Netherlands’ data collection for the European Values Study and examining the impact of diversity and crises on societal trust and political behavior.
Publications: Recent work explores trust in the Dutch monarchy across provinces, pandemic-related trust in institutions, moral attitudes in the Netherlands, Ukrainian cultural values, and methodological advances in data imputation.
Labs/Teams: Coordinates the European Values Study and teaches courses on social capital and multiculturalism. Active in organizing academic workshops and public lectures on topics like post-pandemic societal values.
