Tim Luttermoser

Tim Luttermoser is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Simpson College, affiliated with the Department of Biology, Environmental Science, and Psychology. He teaches courses including Entomology, Biostatistics, and Landscape Ecology (GIS), while co-teaching Life Sciences for Elementary Teachers.

• Education: Ph.D. in Entomology (Cornell University, 2023), M.S. in Entomology (Purdue University, 2016), B.A. in Biology (Hiram College, 2012).

His research focuses on insect and arthropod ecology in natural and agricultural systems, including native pollinators, urban pest ants, and sustainable agriculture practices in Kenya. He emphasizes ecological intensification, pest control, and landscape complexity.

Recent publications explore push-pull technology for maize farming, pest adaptation, predator responses to landscape changes, and plant-soil feedbacks enhancing chemical defenses. These studies span ecology, entomology, and environmental science, with keywords like agroecology, climate adaptation, and integrated pest management.
