Professor Tim Leunig is a distinguished economist and academic at the London School of Economics (LSE), holding a Professorship in the School of Public Policy. With 25 years of teaching at LSE and Oxford, he has also held visiting roles in the US and Europe. His expertise spans Economic History, Education Policy, Energy, and Environmental Policy. Leunig served as a senior UK government official, advising Chancellors and Housing Secretaries, where he designed critical policies including the UK’s furlough scheme during the pandemic, saving 3 million jobs, and the school funding formula 'Progress 8'. He currently leads Public First Consulting and is an Associate Member of Nuffield College, Oxford.
