Tim Frederiksen

Tim Frederiksen is a Professor of Viola and Chamber Music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, where he has served as a subject group leader since 1995. A renowned violist and chamber musician, he has mentored numerous internationally acclaimed ensembles such as the Paizo Quartet, Trio Ondine, and Nightingale String Quartet, which have secured top prizes in competitions like the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition and the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition.

As a performer, Frederiksen has appeared as a soloist with major Danish orchestras, including the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, where he served as 1st concertmaster from 1983. He is also active as a judge in international music competitions and has contributed to documentaries and reference works like Gads Musikleksikon.
