Prof. Dr. Tim Florstedt is a full-time Professor of Civil Law, Commercial and Business Law at EBS University of Business and Law, leading the Chair of Civil Law I. His expertise spans civil law, commercial law, banking law, tax law, and legal theory. He holds a doctorate (2005) and habilitation (2013), and has authored numerous monographs and articles on topics like corporate governance, financial regulation, and cryptocurrency law. His research emphasizes legal frameworks for loan-to-own strategies, shareholder protections, and digital asset regulation. He serves as editor for multiple legal publications and has contributed to reforms in corporate and tax law.
Education: Studied law at Universities of Münster and Kiel. Key research areas include banking law’s role in financial stability, corporate restructuring, and EU legal harmonization. His work bridges theoretical legal principles with practical financial market challenges.
