Professor Tim Daniell holds the N8 Chair in Soil Microbiology within the School of Biosciences at the University of Sheffield, where he leads research at the Arthur Willis Environment Centre. His career spans over 25 years in soil ecology, including significant roles at The James Hutton Institute and the University of Sheffield. His research integrates molecular techniques with ecological approaches to address fundamental questions in soil-plant-microbe interactions.
Daniell's research focuses on arbuscular mycorrhizal ecology and soil nitrogen dynamics, with particular emphasis on sustainable agricultural systems.
