Tim Benefiel

Tim Benefiel is an Adjunct Professor of Accounting at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU), where he teaches Principles of Accounting (ACC 2001). His academic role complements his concurrent administrative position as Associate Vice President for Accounting and Finance at PLNU since 2021.

Benefiel’s research and teaching interests focus on practical applications in accounting, financial management, and budgeting, informed by his professional experience in corporate finance and taxation. His career at PLNU has progressed from Accounting & Budget Analyst (2015–2018) to Senior Accountant (2018–2021) before assuming his current leadership role. Beyond academia, he serves as a board member for Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, Inc. and coaches the PLNU Loman Empire Ultimate Frisbee Team.
