Tilly Michael is a Professor of New Testament and Ancient Judaism at the Faculty of Protestant Theology, Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. He has held visiting professorships at the University of Koblenz-Landau and Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education, and served as Research Associate at the University of Pretoria (South Africa) since 2012. His academic career spans roles as a Research Assistant and Lecturer at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, University of Koblenz-Landau, and Kirchliche Hochschule Wuppertal.

Research Interests: His work focuses on New Testament reception of Hebrew Bible traditions, Septuaginta studies, religious norms in Ancient Judaism, and Jewish-Christian dialogue in late antiquity. He explores apocalypticism, polemics in Josephus' writings, and disability in Pauline theology.
Publications: Recent works include History of Israel (2016), 1 Maccabees Commentary (2015), and interdisciplinary studies on lifestyle norms and apocalypticism in Ancient Judaism.

Academic Leadership: Served as Dean (2016-2019), co-editor of multiple theological journals, and contributor to Dead Sea Scrolls analysis.
