Till Strowig

Prof. Dr. Till Strowig heads the Department of Microbial Immune Regulation at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research. He earned degrees in Medical Biotechnology from Technische Universität Berlin and conducted doctoral research at The Rockefeller University, followed by postdoctoral training at Yale University. Since 2013, he has led research groups focused on microbial-immune interactions.

Strowig's research examines microbiome dynamics, host-microbe interactions, and immune regulation mechanisms. His team investigates how dietary factors shape microbial communities and influence infection resistance. Current projects explore microbial recovery post-antibiotics, diet-microbiome interactions, and microbial competition dynamics.

His extensive publication record demonstrates consistent focus on microbiome stability, microbial therapeutics, and ecological relationships in gut environments. Recent work analyzes dietary impacts on microbial genetics, fermented foods' influence on microbiota, and pathogen inhibition mechanisms.
