Dr. Tiffany Rush-Wilson serves as Professor and Program Chair for the Counselor Education Department at The Chicago School's Online Campus. With over 20 years of experience in mental health counseling and psychology education, she has established herself as a leading expert in eating disorders, cultural competence, and gender equity in counseling practice. Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of Akron (2003), an M.A. in Community Counseling from John Carroll University (1996), and a BA in psychology with sociology minor from Cleveland State University (1994).
Dr. Rush-Wilson's research interests focus on eating disorders and body image, elite athletes, gender equity, cultural humility, diversity, and empowerment in counseling. Her clinical work spans community mental health, children's services, athletics, university settings, and extensive private practice. She maintains an active clinical practice while contributing to the field through research, publications, and professional leadership. Her work consistently bridges the gap between academic theory and practical application, particularly in how cultural factors influence mental health treatment.
Her recent publications and presentations demonstrate a clear trajectory toward addressing emerging issues in mental health, including AI integration in counseling, LGBTQI+ refugee mental health needs, and the intersection of eating disorders with ADHD. Dr. Rush-Wilson has presented at numerous national and international venues, with a growing emphasis on transcultural perspectives in eating disorder treatment.
