Tiffanie Spencer is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education and Social Services (CESS) and Department of Education at the University of Vermont. She serves as the Assistant Dean of Advocacy, Access, and Strategic Impact, leading initiatives to expand diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts through community partnerships and inclusive excellence activities.
- Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Georgia
- M.Ed. in Higher Education Management with a concentration in Student Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh
- B.A. in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame
Her research focuses on the transition pathways and experiences of first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students moving from secondary to postsecondary education. She also specializes in curriculum and program development related to DEI and has contributed to the Higher Education and Student Affairs master’s program at UVM by managing recruitment, admissions, orientation, and racial affinity spaces.
Dr. Spencer previously worked with the Georgia College Advising Corps, a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering underserved high school students in their postsecondary planning. Her career spans roles in Residence Life, Student Conduct, Student Organization advising, and retention programs for marginalized student populations.
